Dear Editor,

We have read with great interest the recent study by Abdel-salam et al., titled Comparison between Low Molecular Weight Heparin and Apixaban (Direct Oral Anticoagulant) in the Prophylaxis Against Venous Thromboembolism After Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy.
While we acknowledge the importance of the topic and the effort made by the authors, we have several concerns from clinical, statistical, and epidemiological standpoints that merit further discussion.
